Diets?
#11
11 stones are about 70kg. Being 6ft I dont think you should loose weight.
Healthy diet and exercise instead is maybe what you need and will help you with depression and boost your confidence.

Wouldlikemuscle is the best person here to advice you about healthy lifestyle. However you could start eating more fruits, veggies, white meat, nothing fried and no butter and not too much bread. However a nice cake with loads of butter sugar ect every now and then is not bad to have if it makes you feel good, everything in moderation they say and i follow this wholeheartedly Wink

Today I have had a bowl of soup for lunch, and then this evening I will have another bowl and that will be my food total for today!

As a middle-aged, under-height ( Wink ) baldie with no medical qualifications whatsoever I feel compelled to ask why you need a diet. At sixteen your metabolism should be burning calories pretty efficiently. If you want to lose a stone in weight (or 14lbs, 6.36363636kg or whatever) eat a healthy mixed diet including plenty of variety in the fruit and, particularly, vegetable department and make sure you get plenty of exercise and sleep. If that doesn't do it for you cut down on quantity you eat a little and/or increase the exercise. Watch the quality of the food you eat, try to limit the amount of processed and fast food and maybe reduce some of the fat intake.

My advice to you is that you don't need a diet as such, just a better balance of food intake and energy output. "Diets" can mess with your metabolism and generally only make money for the author of whatever fad is currently fashionable.

Good luck.

(Now where, did I put those uneaten Easter eggs Rolleyes )

Now that is NOT good! Your body needs food to begin to operate properly. It will shut itself down if starved. This will not serve you well in your goal of losing weight. Please persist with the water. It is amazing the number of people who try to operate when they are dehydrated.

No,we just can't have you not drinking water Robbie.Your body is made up of like 70% water or something like that!If you really can't drink water then find other alternatives e.g. still water,100% fruit juices or flavoured water.I guess soup is fine, can't stand the shizz though.

I'd agree with spotysocks... you do not need to lose any weight. I think to lose any weight would be unhealthy for you given your height and current weight as you are already on the lower end of OK on the typical ideal weight charts (ie, heading towards underweight if you lost any more).

I'm 11 stone (154lb / 70kg ) bang on and I'm still wanting to gain weight! lol

Perhaps what would be better is to tone up, stay the same weight or go up slightly, adding a lil bit more muscle to your frame as opposed to extra weight being in the form of fat. From your avatar (looking at your arm), your bodyfat seems ok.

Diet wise... spotysocks is pretty much spot on. I would say that eating other meats is fine too as long as they're lean cuts. I would also suggest eating 6 small meals a day, rather than a larger breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you find that hard to swallow (excuse the pun), just think of the other 3 meals as snacks... but healthy ones!! Of course you can have the odd treat too (w00t... Friday is my fry-up day!!) Eating 6 smaller meals rather than 3 larger ones helps keep the metabolism more active along with the right exercise.

Xrimo is right that cardio (walking, running etc) is good for losing weight, but also good for toning up.
If you have any weights at home, or a gym membership, then throw in some light resistance work too (weights). Don't worry... I don't mean to get bigger, coz that's not what you want... just for toning. If you don't have weights or a gym membership then there's plenty of bodyweight exercises you can do too.

And water intake... you gotta get some down ya! I'm drinking a minimum of 3 litres a day. If I add anything to water (tea, juice etc) I don't count it in my 3 litre intake. I'd recommend at least 2 litres for you per day. As you don't really like it, just get a bottle, and sip at it throughout the day and build up intake so you're getting used to it. I get bored of water at times, but it is essential to healthy living.

Hope that's of some help to you.

Results from exercise can vary greatly from person to person... but definitely within a couple of weeks you should start noticing. A lil more definition here and there, general increase in fitness.. able to run for longer, carry out more reps, lift heavier etc

there are many people (inc me) im sure who would love to be your size and weight, you looks good in your pic

Im 5ft9 and used to weigh nearly 14 stone mostly due to comfut eating when feeling down. I had quite health kick about 2-3 years ago and got down to 11st10. With my job and the hours I work average 45-72 a week, I got out of the habit of going to the gym. Now I just try to go for the odd bike ride now and again not as many as I should. Im currently anywhere between 12st-12st10 I yo yo weight quite rapidly. Idealy I could do with loosing another stone, I should realy join a gym again and make the effort
