What is your favorite hymn?

Please don't turn this into a silly rant about religions

Mine is Amazing Grace

I have a terrible singing voice - think cat trapped in a cement mixer.

However there are a few songs I can sing and sing very well. The rumbly, southern twangy singing voice I have been blessed with (Cat in the mixer rumbling and twangy) allows me to sing a few gospel (old school gospel) songs rather well.

I have two favorites which I do very well with singing.

Come Thou Font of Every Blessing.

I also do a great rendering of Some Glad Morning:

Bread of Heaven and For Those In Peril On The Sea.

Both were sang at my parents wedding and at their funerals.

I'm not at all sure why Bread Of Heaven (Maybe something to do with Wales - I think the Welsh National Anthem "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau" Old Land Of My Fathers, is sung to the same tune) but my dad served with Cunard on the Queen Elizabeth so I suppose it was fitting.

J. Cash had such an amazing voice.

A hymn is not the same as a song in English, is it? Maybe I don't even know any hymn...

I'm not exactly a religious individual, but I did go to sunday school for maaaaany years as a child, so I can remember a couple of hymns...

Have to say though, I would probably vote "Amazing Grace" as my favourite, even if that might seen a tad obvious xD
Especially the long version, I remember having to perform that as a child for some... event-type thing Laugh

I have to say, I still have issues with the third verse though...

"Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home."

Come doesn't rhyme with home silly hymn-writer-person! -_-'
