Retro games
#1
Hey peeps,

So what 'retro' games do you remember playing in the past?

I'm currently building a nice "high spec" gaming computer for $399 including monitor as a dedicated gaming computer for my past. Sadly it is more than I ever had, even as a teenager (Celeron 2.6ghz, a graphics card, 500g hd, 4 gig 1333mhz ram etc). It is the lowest specs I can actually buy new, and unfortunately due to driver issues I'm going to have to run off windows 7 with emulators for dos games and annoying fixes for the classics I've loved when I was young.

What I am looking forwards to adding to my gaming file and reliving;

1. Commander keen
2. Duke nukem (the original side scroller)
3. Prince of persia (once again, DOS original)
4. police quest series

as well as some 'modern games' like

- soldier of fortune
- carmageddon 1/2
- age of empires etc

So whats yours? Oink2

I still play "retro" games all the time... probably more than I play new games Laugh

Love far too many to make a proper list, but I'll name my most recent play-throughs;
Phantasy Star for the Mastersystem
Knuckles Chaotix for the Sega CD
Zelda II: Adventures of Link for the Nintendo Entertainment System
Demon's Crest for Super Nintendo

Lucky for me, all the old games I like are console games; so I can either play them on the actual consoles, or just use low-tech emulators, cause my laptop can't cope with much. I shudder to think how it'd react to most modern games Biglaugh

for super nintendo, sega and gameboy it would be

1.) Pocahantas- Sega Genesis
2.) Super Mario World- Super Nintendo
3.) Pokemon Blue- Gameboy
4.) Tetris- Gameboy
5.) Donkey Kong Country Series- Super Nintendo
6.) Sonic and Knuckles- Sega Genesis

I don't know if these titles would be considered "retro" they are about 10 to 15 years.

1.) Sonic Adventure- Sega Dreamcast
2.) Mario Kart- Nintendo 64
3.) Super Smash Bros 64- Nintendo 64
4.) Donkey Kong 64- Nintendo 64
5.) Super Mario 64- Nintendo 64
6.) Soul Calibur- Dreamcast

Legend of Zelda: A link to the past
Super Mario Bro. 2&3
Contra
Metroid
Mega Man 3
Blaster Master

I still have my orginal NES and yes it is in working contition with over like 150 games all saftely stored away in my attic. Now I just use emulators because it is much easier than to just get all the stuff out and set up.

Krupt Wrote:WOW...retro is so this century...I serious thought this discussion would have been about Atari, Space Invaders, Asteroid, Donkey Kong, Frogger and more...you know, real retro. Smile

Ah, Atari:
Dungeon Master
Blood Money
Buggy Boy
Frogger
Space Harrier
Baal

They don't make 'em like that anymore.
