From a teacher - short and to the point.

In the world of hi-tech gadgetry, I've noticed that more and more people who send text messages and emails have long forgotten the art of capital letters.

For those of you who fall into this category, please take note of the following statement:

"Capitalisation is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse."

Is everybody clear on that?

Not really, can you explain why you didn't use a comma in either example and why uncle has a capital?

It is acceptable to capitalize uncle if it is part of a name, like Aunt May from Spider-Man. Not sure where commas would be necessary in those examples either. I suppose one could write "your uncle, Jack, off the horse." However, the original was also acceptable.

Then there is the whole subject of artificial insemination....

Is Uncle Jack a horse rancher?
