Seattle guy moving to Knoxville, Tennessee

Hey all! I'm moving from Seattle to Tennessee soon, but I don't really know anything about it. I graduate with a two year degree with an emphasis on web development in March, which is when I'm going to get ready to move. My boyfriend is going ahead of me, though, so at least the place will be all picked out.

I'm interested in talking with people about what is like being gay down there, and maybe making friends. Since I'm coming from living in the second most liberal city in the nation, I'm a tad nervous.

It's uhhhh, different

There's a lot of people in the south who are less than enlightened.

I've never lived in Knoxville specifically, but I lived in Clarksville TN for 5 years.

TN is a nice place and the people are nice in general, but they are often a bit backwards.

Just bear in mind it's not Seattle and you'll be good.

Get ready for it. There is nothing like the South!

I live in Texas, but all Southern states have their "funny" ways.
Just be careful and be watchful until you get used to the people down there and the way they think.
Its a whole new "ballgame".
