Decade Long
#1
This December will mark my 10th year with Type 1 diabetes. When I was 13 I got really sick and my parents found me passed out in the bathroom, they rushed me to the hospital and my blood sugar was 1800. (Normal range for me is 120) I almost died and I was flown to a Childerens Hospital 2 hours away. My blood sugar dropped to fast and at first they thought my brain might have swelled but luckily it didn't.

When I finally woke up it had been a couple of days and I was told that I had Diabetes. It was 3 days before Christmas but I got to come home on Christmas Eve so that was a nice gift. It is hard for me to believe how long it has been.
