lynx has its place but:
-is missing a lot of modern apps that we take for granted
-slow to have drivers for new hardware
-popularity of various lynx derivatives come and go
a home desk top:
an un avoidable evil. I leave mine running in a low power mode, wakes up on network activity. Runs a email server, hosts a web page, home camera, and most of all an app "tonido" to stream my music &video through my cell phone. I watch a show and or listen to music while taking the bus home. I can connect to my home server from work to access files.
I am not an IT person so for me this stuff is challenge to setup.
