This is a fantastic anthropology piece. Very well constructed.
There are of course plenty of neurobiological aspects as towards self-perception regarding gender and sex. Taking into account environmental factors in shaping the mental frame of a single person. It's an interesting study.
To approach at some definitions that may help people who are in the gender-doens't-match-sex zone gain a good self-perception is wonderful.
