Bottom line to losing weight (and saving money) - slowly cut back the size of the portions you eat, cut out beer and soft drinks all together for at least 3 months and CARDIO! Cardio being some activity that you enjoy doing that causes you to raise your heartbeat and burn calories.
Lifting weights grows muscle and muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're trying to get thin and muscular, keep up with your personal trainer. If, like me, you wanted to thin down - then go with the smaller food portions (ie: instead of eating 3 pieces of pizza - eat 2, Instead of 3 scoops of ice cream, go with 2, and so on.) and find some form of Cardio that you like. I personally HATE going to the gym or doing work-out cardio stuff, so i took up country line dancing. Some guys like to run, some guys like to play tennis or racquetteball, but either way, find some sort of excercise that you LIKE todo that will raise your heartrate.
