The Olympics are one of the events that actually brings people together around the world. Watching the opening and closing ceremonies are really beautiful. Can I just ask exactly why they should be a boycott?
Boycotting the olympics will do nothing. You really think Putin cares if we don't show, more medals for Russia. Putin still has the old stalinist mindset, he's a former kgb officer don't forget. He is slowly taking russia backwards to the stalinist thinking of the past. Only he isn't executing people in masses.

More like UK & France let it happen...the first was too concerned with an overseas empire to want any more involvement in continental Europe's problems. The later was still to overly traumatized from the carnage that the last German invasion on French soil had left in WWI....but yes...Hitler's ordeal could have been avoided

This has been going on for a while and now it's escalating rapidly, specialy in the country side because those bastards feel protected by this recent "family values" law

Russia never got out of the Stalinist model really....whatever "democratic" experiments Gorbachev and Yeltsin were conducting are now utterly crushed by 12 years of Putin
I'm inclined to agree....maybe it won't make any difference, but a statement has to be made...boycoting those games is necessary
