Most of the places I'd like to see would require me to have a high social status in order to not get caught in a miserable existence... I'd travel back to the Heian period of Japan with our modern technology and have them worship me as a God. Ignoring the consequences a move as such would have on the historical timeline of course.

If I could, I'd travel SIDEWAYS in time. I'd be especially interested in meeting myself in different universes...perhaps even where I was born male...

And I'm not sure if I'm cynical or just looking at the positive as I feel certainty that if I ever met a heterosexual version of myself (if there are multiple mes then I'm sure at least some of them are straight) that meeting such versions of myself would just make me glad I'm gay instead. (ETA: Sorry if I'm being confusing by talking about myself in different universes where probabilities worked out a bit--or a lot--differently in each one.)

Like in Harry Potter ; Prisoner of Azkaban, no two of the same Entity can ever exist on the same plane as another, as a cataclysmic rift will obliterate them both, as to come into contact with one's self is to ultimately die or have your mind warped.

And as with John Carter, lives are to be lived seperately within the same entity, so if one dies in one time, so shall the other, but to ever try and commune with oneself would cause somethong akin to the Butterfly Effect...

Risky business Time Travel...best left to the gifted hands of the Jumpers and the Ones...

Apathetic the Ones are, however, they are very talented in the Manipulation of Time and Space...having even been here before the Divine Tree and have been thought to have even planted the Divine Tree itself! :o

"The Vulcan Science Directorate has determined that time~travel is impossible."
- Commander T'Pol

Now assuming that that ain't true... Mucking about with time is bound to be an all around bad idea. Time unfolds the way it does for a purpose and a reason.

While I may not like how events turned out, I did come away from every experience with a bit more knowledge and was slightly changed by each event accumulating into what and who I am today.

We are each a product of the net sum of our experiences, to lose one or replace one experience changes who and what we are, sometimes a single event can have profound impact on who/what we are.

I believe that even being an observer tends to affect how time unfolds. Thus no time traveler can go back in time and observe. Their mere presence standing on the street could cause a person to have to side step and that fraction of a second could change the course of their whole history.

And to purposeful muck around and do something to cause change - very troublesome.

Be it the Grandfather Paradox (going back and killing your grandfather before he has kids - does that mean your parent and you never existed? If so then how did you manage to exist to kill your grandfather?).

Or be it something noble like killing Hitler before he got Germany's panties in a collected bunch to take over the world.

While that last may not lead to paradox, it could have a far worse outcome than what WWII had.

1974 - 1979 New York City. If I could set my age, it would be 18. So by the time Studio 54 opened in 1977, I would be 21 and would have had time to climb (sleep my way up) the social ladder enough to gain VIP entry to the club... Jigga

I just recalled a dream I had many years ago where a horrible alien invasion from space pretty much conquered Earth in like a day or so, but somehow I got me, my non-existent son (he used to show up a lot, sometimes as my son, sometimes my little brother when I have no siblings, I don't know what that was about!), and my cousin onto some kind of time machine to escape back in time.

We came out in 1983, and upon waking I don't know if that's as far as it could take us before it broke down or if I intentionally chose it for being a few months after I was born (it appeared to be summer to me, so less than a year). And despite seeing Earth destroyed, facing horrifying aliens, losing about everyone save the 2 with me, and knowing they were a few decades in the future when I'd have to face them again I got excited as I led the other 2 into a restaurant hoping for a jukebox going, "We're in the age of glam metal!" Beautifully thought BA!

I expect no less However, from an Elf such as yourself...a wise race is yours. Though the Irony of Time and your existence leads you to learn what many cannot, however!

In your Immortality, are you not here by a Paradox within and of itself? As you live forever but technically never live, as to live is to die and so to never die allows you to live on...

Curious...your mere existence is a distruption in the flow of time, as it must bend around you and your kind...causing only Divinity knows how many Butterfly effects...

I must say, I am slightly envious of your Wisdom...but you are after all Elven...not even matched by Sylphids or Undine herself...
