I'm not sure if I know a lot about Serbia. Is Serbia a very Orthodox Christian country. I am curious about the treatment of gays by the Orthodox Church in general. I lived near a Greek Orthodox Church growing up in NYC. Greeks were very open to being gay and so was the pastor of St Spyridon's in upper Manhattan.

How are things now in the Orthodox world?

Hey John,

Serbia indeed is a very Orthodox, right-oriented country although I am not Christian myself. . It's safe to say that Orthodox Church is one of the main reasons people are still so homophobic because they often make public statements on how wrong being gay is and how God doomed gay people and those who make Pride Parades to eternal fire in Hell.

It's not easy being gay at all, but we manage.
