I never considered Mother's Day would be celebrated on different days around the world - rather silly of me.

We all had a nice dinner at my sisters house. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Rather low key but nice since mom is now 80.

Hi Dan that's sweet.

I'm a bit of a mummy's boy too. Always pamper mine with nice presents that day.

This year it was on March 2nd if I remember rightly! Confusedmile: May 11 is the USA and other parts of the world one.

I usually spoil my mum and buy her Disney Snow Globes... they are about £80 a piece, some can be cheaper depends really, but yeah I usually get her one of those. This year due to lack of funds I was unable to buy her literally anything but she understood... I'm hoping to get her something nice for her birthday at the end of the month to make up for it though Confusedmile:

Here's more to confuse you, then.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother's_Da..._the_world

This chart gives numerous options for mother's day from January in Israel to December in Indonesia. Mongolia celerates it twice a year (quite right too).

The one you need to remember is the UK celebration on the fourth Sunday in Lent.

Take your pick.

As for us, it'll be in a couple of weeks' time on May 25th. So you see, every nation has its special day for its mums... Did you know, btw, that Mother's Day was originally a day of celebration for the Mother Church (possibly in the Catholic church a celebration of the Holy Virgin)?
