church
#11
Yeah I still go to church. I was raised catholic with at least three masses a week, and a couple hours of bible study. It's been too big a part of my life to just throw it all away. I go to church once a week now. I actually really like it.. I feel really peaceful in church. However, I wouldn't refer to myself as "religious" anymore. More like "I believe," and it's been part of my life, so.. yeah.. that's why I go. My old was church was pretty anti-gay, but the one I usually go to now supports equality. Still, I sort of like the old one better, even though that doesn't make any sense. Oh well.

There is at least one gay-friendly Protestant church that I know of in the area, and of course, every Unitarian church is as well.

Everywhere is 'church' to me.

But about specific groups, yes. There is a Unitarian Universalist
church near me and there's a bunch of Pagan/Earth Based Spirituality
groups which are recognized by the Federal government as a Church.

The last time I attended a Catholic-thing was when they were
doing a service in my aunts house and we came to pray the
rosary and then later on food was served while the group
showed a slide show on why the world needs to pray more and
of course one the slides was a leather daddy wearing ass-less chaps
waving a rainbow flag.

I almost spat my food and started laughing my ass off.

I think Gandhi said it best "I like your Christ, but not your Christians."

Enough said for me.
