Biphobia

Bi and proud! People are so quick to dismiss it just because I'm married to a man.

I think people are focusing too much on the "phobia" aspect of the word. In my experience, biphobic people really just believe in a lot of misconceptions that either cause them to disbelieve in bisexuality or completely avoid bisexuals altogether. What I've learned after being out is that I hate this the most: people believing that bisexuals have the best of both worlds. This is so far from the truth, for me at least. When I was "straight" (or so it appeared) I had no problems with dating. And when I told men that I was gay, they also had no issue with wanting to date me. However, once I started being out and honest about being bi, then forget it; I was no longer dateable. I did get really lucky finding an awesome girl who was also bi, though. That saved me a lot of frustration.

There are a lot of other misconceptions out there, but that's just the one that I've dealt with.

Everyone needs an Enema, just like Kyle's Siggy says.

Cause they're so full of crap Chicken

Like people in general, just don't like or understand or want to understand what's different.

Like my dislike of Bears and what not, I have almost nothing in common physically to them and I do not find them appealing whatsoever and I mean this aesthetically, because of the hair, which to me is very much a turn off.

However, I would not say they shouldn't be bears (unless I'm playing around), or that they're disgusting for being what they are.

That's where people make the mistakes to I think.

They act on stuff they don't understand and say it's wrong, even though they don't even know.

I wouldn't even go so far as to say it's even a Phobia per se, because they obviously aren't afraid to let a bitch know, however, it's more like Homo-Intolerance or Bi-Intolerance, because they know but they don't know and act on this, which leads to an intolerance, which is founded on basically ignorance -.-

And it's not just Gay Bi, Lesbian or whatever, it's everyone.

I'm still confused because I'm not sure what can define a person's sexuality. I thought it all had to do with which gender you find sexually appealing, but apparently that's not it. I could watch gay porn all the time and have pictures of shirtless guys all over my wall, but that doesn't necessarily make me gay or bi? I could still be straight? I can't go off of my own sexual experiences unfortunately because I've had none. 21 years old and never been kissed. :/ Maybe if I was more experienced, the answer would be clearer to me, but I know there are gay people on this forum with little to no experience who know for a fact what they are.

Sexuality for me is what gender I'd prefer to fuck. No vagiola for me thankyouverymuchly.
And no you'd probably not be straight if you watched gay porn and hand topless guys on your wall.

Annnnd yes you can know you are gay before you kiss someone of have any kind of intimacy with another dude.

i don't think sexuality has a lot to do with who you want to have sex with. some people just really like sex and don't care who they do it with .
i'm a lesbian because i'm in love with a woman and can't see myself being in romantic long-term relationship with a man.

So...a bisexual? Or even pansexual?

or the focus is on the act of having sex rather than who they're having sex with.

i'd say a bisexual/pansexual person would be someone who can fall in love with someone of any gender. actually having sex doesn't have a lot to do with it.

sexuality is called sexuality for a reason, if it wasn't about fucking it would be called genderality.

I think these things are far too complex to box and label something, I mean an asexual relationship could be a sister sister relationship.

so sexuality is sexuality, but who you fall in love with doesn't always depend on sexuality?

I'll fess up - bi dudes are really sexy. It's the closest I'll ever come to sleeping with a straight dude - and I am totally turned on by certain straight men. Anyways, bi dudes are okay by me. Big time.
