what really grinds your gears?
I'm trolling, I know that French tourists are sometimes unbearable. Lot of them (a visible minority, let's say) wont make the effort to speak English, and will expect everyone speaks French.
I've been told "Oh you're nice for a French guy" or "Usually we don't like French tourists but you..." etc. lol ! So sometimes I had the coffee, tea or desert offered at the restaurant or whatever...so, I won't complain of living in an "asshole" country

hahaha

well, some Americans do not make the slightest effort to speak anything else than English, even if they visit a predominantly Spanish-speaking side of the world..

then there are this bigoted rude people that thrash the country and think they can do it out loud cause they have this notion that no one here can understand English...ugh..

I don't know how French people are everywhere else, but the ones that come down here are usually nice and funny

You can reasonnably expect people speaking English, but an American may not necessarily speak spanish...
I would never expect a tourist in Paris to speak French...

I think in Chile, french who come there really are curious and like adventure and travels, they probably are those who go and hike in the Andes.
They're probably more open-minded than the mean French guy who visits London or New York...or other fashion destinations...

True to that...French folks that come down here seem very relaxed and easy going..it maybe just what you say...

I don't know...them not knowing Spanish is not what bothers me, it's the complete lack of will to even learn a few words if you're coming to a zone that has 20 something Spanish-speaking countries..

If I'm going to Germany or Austria I would expect English to be the lingua franca, but I am going to try and learn a little bit of German beforehand at least...you know, out of simple respect...

even Japanese folks who have considerably more issues in learning Spanish do learn a few phrases when coming here..

^^^ I absolutely loath when Elephants get into my veg plot... I can only imagine what happens when one enters a crystal shop. I doubt it ends well.
