So, I have a friend that has been my friend for a few years now, but mainly because we get together at group hangouts to play video games. At a recent New Years party, I noticed some things about him that I hadn't before because we usually just play games and make random comments throughout.

- I'm on my computer watching Game Grumps, and he looks over and says "You still watch those guys?" I say "Yeah, I actually think they've gotten better." And he just shakes his head and scoffs.
- I start to watch a Nostalgia Critic video and without asking his opinion he says "I stopped watching him because he stopped being funny."
- I express my excitement for the newest Super Smash Bros game for WiiU, and he says that he's not excited at all because of how the creators ruined Brawl and will most likely ruin this one too.
- He talks about how great of a forum NeoGaf is and how he was accepted as a member because apparently only "qualified" people can be members
- We come across a thread on NeoGaf of people excitedly talking about the newest Super Smash Bros and speculating characters and how they work, usual fan talk, stuff I do all the time on forums I'm apart of. But he says how he hates when people do that because...I'm not even sure. Maybe because he's not excited for the next game and discussing characters for a game that he thinks will suck is pointless...?
- He recommends a game to me that I'm on the fence about and says that if HE recommends it, then it's GOTTA be good.

As he kept going on, it got really annoying... Is there a word for people like that? Someone who seems to hold themself on a high pedestal and expresses a negative opinion on just about everything you enjoy...?
