There's nothing more boring and disappointing than when you're with a group of people, having a good time, and then all of a sudden the conversation turns to cars... or houses... or the pros and cons of this phone compared to that phone (and any other electronic device). WHO GIVES A FUCK??? DON'T YOU PEOPLE REALIZE WE'RE GOING TO DIE ONE DAY??? <--- that's me on the inside. It's at that point that my neck muscles go slack and I lose all ability to keep my head from lolling around like an infant's.

Maybe they actually talk about these things for the precise reason that yes, they do realize we're going to die one day - and their mundane discussion is a super-pomo-meta commentary on the meaningless of it all.

More likely they're just seriously complaining about the menu on a Samsung Super-Galaxy Universe Mega X3-GNT4 versus the much more user-friendly flipping ability of the Nokia Blitzkrieg Bumlove Rockhole 6555 X44-2000-with-an-extra-squirt-of-4G (2000).
