I worked in the service industry for a short time. My boss ended up being very happy the lady "requested" (please note the quotation marks - request it wasn't) a glass of water over a steak knife.
Frankly I don't know how people wait tables, sell stuff to people and do all of that 'service' type stuff without more murders taking place.
I'm the type of customer who will turn to a customer who is making a scene (complaining, being nasty, what not) and tell them that as a customer in that place I find their whole attitude ruining my shopping/dining/whatever experience and it would be nice if they would shut up now.
I think if more of 'customers' actually stood up and did for the server what many companies won't allow, that the whole 'customer service' experience would he happier for all.
