Lost and Found Money
#11
I would say this on the account that I have a job that pays decent, so I can pay my bills and my student loan and still have some to eat and save little by little...

I would just walk away....I don't want the moral dilemma..

If I had pressing economical needs....maybe I would act differently

Like bowyn id keep a low profile. Though id be scared what to with the money, i mean you cant walk in the bank and make a cash deposit can you. . . . Or can you?

I think id be looking over my shoulder my whole life, still would though.

One launders the money first. I prefer a gentle 'dedicates' cycle and a little fabric softner followed by a cool dryer for fluffing. not too much starch when I iron it.....

No seriously, 1-2 bills at a time deposited at different locations and you will be safe. Taking a huge chunk of change no matter if you saved up for years stuffing a mattress or just 'found' it laying around will raise eye brows. With automatic depositing and a few bank branches, one could deposit 1-3 bills at each bank weekly (like on Friday) and no one will think to look at your deposit with a big question.

Assuming they are not all $100 dollar notes. Think 'reasonable cash gifts/earnings' size. So if it translates well to the economy in your area, depositing $500 isn't that big of a deal and most likely won't be noticed.

The easiest way to get rid of it is to spend it on day to day purchases - stores, eateries, for gasoline. Using a $20.00 for a pack of smokes type deal where you are laundering individually with leaving behind the 'tainted' note and getting new currency in change.

However there are laundry services (not the clothes kind, though Ironically many dry cleaners do act as fronts for such).

Pix and I and I think Mr. Tinklers have all been on the wrong side of the street more than once and know way too much about how the real world works - we all agree that where there are cops there are crooks and they are the same individuals Rolleyes

Honestly, I'd definitely keep that money. I wouldn't be stupid and let anyone know I had it though. I'd spend it on small things and occasionally cover a bill with it. It's hard (but not impossible) for someone like me to make a real living in this world, so I'd reach for any lucky break offered to me. I don't see it as greed so much as opportunity.

I was a professional opportunist for a while... It certainly paid better than any of my 'real jobs' and Uncle Sam didn't tax me either....

Well, if it was dirty, I would wash it.

First, I would make sure it was REAL money and not counterfeit money.

If it is real money, then I would "launder" it by exchanging it for other money in different cities and states. I would do this a couple of times over.

THEN I would put it in a.............FUCK!

Why the HELL am I telling my secrets for ???????

I was a little tea leaf in my youth. I shoplifted for fun... think I'd have qualms about finding money... pull the other one.

Mindf*ck question actually, I don't know.
I think I wouldn't be able to spend it cause that's not my money and I don't like to change my way of life because of that.
I also would find it difficult to give back to the police.
Maybe I would pick 20 dollars to pay the gas or whatever, and live the wallet here. Big Grin

So you think finding a penny on the ground, putting it in your pocket, and walking off is stealing?
