Actually, I never really got around to watching Daria. Based on some quotes I've seen online I think I'd like it though, and it seems like the kind of show I would have found very cathartic if I had discovered it around 14-15. I'll probably try it out one day! Smile

My cousin was (probably still is) a major Beavis & Butt-head fan, and back when I was 14 I said Daria should get her own show. He said it would never work because she'd never be funny without B&B. About a year and a half later I caught an episode of Daria on MTV (first season).

I loved that show, and even wrote a lot of fanfic for it in my early to mid-20s (as "Dervish," also as "Janarky"). And I used to have dreams of Daria, sometimes in cartoon form and sometimes in real life form, some of those dreams were quite haunting. I also had the books put out on her, I found one by accident when shopping with my granny who was baffled & bemused that I squealed when I saw the The Daria Database for sale and snatched it up.

But I just don't get that enthusiastic about it today. Yet maybe as I get older and all nostalgic my passion for Daria will return. :redface: Wink

I don't absolutely love Daria, but I did enjoy some of the shows.

...I've been watching this show for the last two hours because of this thread. I feel like I connect with Daria on a deep and monotonous emotional level.
