There may be more to this story, but it looks like serious hypocrisy on the part of the school. They knew the guy was gay for years, but it's only when he gets a marriage license (now that it's legal in New Jersey) that they fire him? Funny, but I don't remember gay marriage being mentioned in the Bible... No wait, it's a Catholic school. So it's ok to be gay, as long as you repress it!

He should not fret over it, dont work for a company which doesnt acknowledge your rights. The world is always about give and take, if he gives good service to the school, then personal issues should not matter
