Sexual enhancers that REALLY work
#1
When I turned 30 I started trying all sorts of sexual enhancers and I was surprised to find out that some actually do work.

Most sexual enhancers are complete rubbish and many may even endanger your health but some are effective and safe. Always consult your doctor (urologist) first.

Anyway, here's my selection (they are all approved meds, I take no chances when it comes to my health):

a) PDE-5 inhibitors (Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, Helleva): Everyone knows about these and they are extremely effective BUT they have several limitations. They only act peripherally, they do not improve libido and side effects can be unpleasant.

b) Oral phentolamine (Vasoviril, Vigamed): This one was a great find, I used it for several years in combination with Cialis but it seems to have been discontinued. This is a terrible shame because phentolamine is very effective. It works by blocking sympathetic action in the penis, thus improving blood flow and erections.

c) Apomorphine (Zyprima, Uprima): I tried this one yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. Zyprima is a centrally acting drug (Viagra only acts peripherally) that works by increasing dopamine levels in the brain. I had an amazing erection and my orgasm was more intense than usual. Uprima was discontinued and is no longer available in Europe but you can order it online at Worldwide Pharmacies. I'm planning to use it in combination with Cialis.

d) Prelox: This one is just a food supplement and it is the least 'spectacular' of the lot but it is also effective and has no side effects whatsoever.

I would have figured that two popsickle sticks and some twine would be a lot cheaper than all that stuff...and a lot less headache to get.

I'm not advocating the use of sexual enhancers. Pills don't replace a loving partner. And a healthy lifestyle is the best possible sexual enhancer there is.

BUT if you really want to try a sexual enhancer, you might as well get one that works.

Like I said, I'm not innovating here and these are all approved meds. The problem is most people have never heard about them and keep spending billions in garbage.

OK, because I am older, I can say this truthfully for those who may not get it. When you get to be my age things can happen to your body that you sometimes do not have control over. A little over a year ago I was almost 300 pounds, high blood pressure and borderline diabetic. I have since lost 75 pounds so far and am no longer taking meds for the other problems as they have gone away. However one med for high blood pressure had a bad effect on my sex drive as it is known to do and it will still be in my system for another year or two. Enter my extremely patient boyfriend (OMG HOT and sexy!) 11 months ago who has been a saint with me (true love can forgive major issues). I have been prescribed the name brand meds for ED with no improvement. I want to be able to be all I can be for my boyfriend so I welcome any advice on how to get my drive back. My doctor is kinda useless in this area and seems to avoid the issue all together but he is great in other areas so I will stick with him.
So Misterlove thank you for your post and I will talk about some of these alternatives with my doc. Thank you and sorry for the rant but some people just don't understand what can happen to sex drives.

Thanks for your reply, CarGuy.

May I ask you what med was that?

Many meds can have serious sexual side effects (e.g. several antidepressants) but I wasn't aware that a med for high blood pressure could stay in someone's system for so long.

I was taking two different meds at the time and I think it was Metroprolol. Nasty stuff. Also made me dizzy and lightheaded. Glad I am off it. Doc told me it could take about a year or two for "SOME" people to get it out of your system.

Never heard of it.

These meds usually have sexual side effects. Phentolamine was originally used to treat high blood pressure but it actually improves your sexual performance and can treat mild cases of ED.

I am firm believer in combination therapy and I used to take phentolamine and Cialis together. Both drugs act in entirely different ways and results were spectacular.

It seems that pharma companies are beginning to discover the benefits of combining different treatments, as well. You can find a combination of Viagra and Priligy (never tried this one, I believe it treats premature ejaculation) on several websites.

The market for sexual enhancers is huge, so why don't we hear more about these drugs? I guess it's a result of consumer stupidity (most people think Viagra is a magical solution and can solve anything) but also aggressive marketing and dishonest practices from big pharma companies. I'm sure Pfizer isn't too thrilled about Vigamed or Zyprima.
