My answer to that, Joseph, would be that you
don't need to tell EVERYONE about you being gay. First, you need to form a circle of friends who are likely to accept this fact about you. Girls are often good allies. Sometimes your brothers and sisters, or your mum... Are you afraid of telling particular people around you, like your parents and brothers and sisters, maybe? Do you want your mates from college to know? Which ones? Why is it important that they should know.
Secondly you talk about being afraid of it not being allowed. Well, in the UK, it is not only allowed, it is even now protected, after many years of gays being bullied and repressed, it's not the case anymore. So yes, you are allowed to be gay, but then it also depends on which community you come from and how it is accepted by that community and its religious beliefs or social beliefs.
Can you give us a few more details about your fears of coming out? And if there are any specific people that you would like to tell but don't dare to?
