Lumpia and pancit ! Good stuff.

Hehe.. I don't eat it much. Just twice a year, perhaps.
Pinoys have a lot of weird recipes, really...
Faves would be Caldereta, Adobo, and asado...hmmm.

Paw Paw casserole, which is a local dish.

Which despite the look, is made of fruit. Paw paws, tomatoes, cheese and something else, can't remember x.x its's not gross really, but foreigners tend not to eat or even have paw paw fruits, so;

Also our Fish Chowder;[Image: 1200px-Bermuda_Fish_Chowder_%283825239570%29.jpg]

Which is Fish stock, vegetables, spices, Fish and peppers and a few other things, which many people probably won't like unless acclimated.

Our diets consist heavily of Fish-Fruits-Spices lol. We follow Portuguese/British/West Indian food styles and make our own versions.

For snack sometimes, I eat Curried Tuna and Crackers, which even some people here find odd, but is generally how it's done.

Also Cowfoot and Roti, which is influenced from Jamaica and Trinidad respectively are things people go :0 to.

I also had Iguana egg before(although we don't have them locally here) and it was fuckin awesome, seriously.

Not much grosses me out, altho when I went to America some years back, they had this gross type of burger at a Wendy's , that was both greasy and flat that had all these onions throughtout x.x

Our burgers are typically not so greasy and also has a different taste, almost sweet, but not really... it's hard to describe lol. Especially from the Shoppe by my mama's house, OMFG!!
Lol, now I'm hungry for one >,>

..no, but seriously being Filipino.. there's a bunch. Evan already mentioned
'balut'. But there's also 'dinugoan[sp?]' which is pretty much pigs-blood-stew,
'kare-kare' which is also another stew made out of tripe [stomach lining], 'isaw'
which is chicken intestine, pig brain soup with 'miswa'[sp?].. and a bunch of
other things.. Nothing really goes to waste.

I don't eat pork and beef anymore, but I tried it again while I was on vaca
back home cause they make it better there obv.

Oh well, I should add.. I eat Indian food once and awhile and sometimes they
look like diarrhea.. but it just tastes so good. Hmm.. I also love hummus which
can also look diarrhea-like at times.

I love abalone which is basically a big sea slug. It's so tough you have to slice it thin and pound the hell out of it before you cook it. Some people love it and others won't even try it. We pry them off the rocks here locally.

I dont know how to make it but I always eat it.

fu xi fei pian, in English 'Husband 'n' Wife Lung Slices'

It's boiled beef and Tripe sliced thinly, and mixed as a salad with a spicy oil and chilli dressing. It's really good with really fresh celery.

Another one might be duck tongues. It's one of my favourite dim sum. It's the tongues of ducks, ripped out with the bone so its in a convenient lollipop shape, braised in sugar and soy sauce. Very tasty.

And I dunmo but whenever i tell a non Australian/Newzealander about it they look confused: meat pies. Like pies, but hand sized and filled withmince gravy and sometimes processed cheese.

And another thing that people might think is gross is raw stuff. I like steak pretty rare, the best kind is japanese tataki preperation. And I love tartare.

I tried abalone in China and I found the actual meat itself to be really quite flavourless and rubbery...

But abalone flavoured things, and the broth it was served in was delicious!

I've never tried paua before though, which is the kind of abalone that lives here. Apparently it's really nice, it's not so much meaty, but more of just an ocean flavour, plus it's black.

I also tried escargot once, but it wasnt good quality.

I used to love eating sea snails. They were delicious.

VileKyle Wrote:I grew up on the coast, so I love seafood. I'm also a fan of sushi. That's not really weird at all, but try telling that to anyone in New Mexico where I live now. It's like they think seafood is the spawn of the alien overlords trying to take over our minds. Whatever. More alien spawn food for me!

OMG!!! For the LONGEST time I would NEVER try sushi, cause I thought it was gross.

Then one day I decided "what the hell", and I have loved it since.

Its hard for me to find anyone to go eat sushi with, much less "regular" asian foods.
