People do have different definitions of dating.
I only found out recently that when I first met one of my friend he thought me and him were dating for a while (I just thought I was catching up with a friend).
Where you just dating or were you officially boyfriends? - That also makes a difference.
Is he monogamous or is he into open relationships? - That makes a difference.
You say that you are hurt, I would ask the question why are you jealous?
Did he give any indication that he did not care for you? That he rejected you in favor of other people?
Or is it just that you feel that all his time should have been devoted exclusively to you? - Is this not selfish on your part?
