Dating an Asian Guy
#21
The date didn't go well. Frankly, I feel it was mostly my fault. One we have talked only on snapchat, which is a problem for me because the chats disappear. It just seems to me that can be a use to conceal other things. I've always preferred texting or talking on the phone. I don't know if I was hoodwinked or not but I get the feeling he might have just wanted "netflix and chill." I feel things got a little out of hand for a first date and I can't really blame him. No, we didn't have sex and that is a good thing, but I think it went a little too far.

I think I overlooked a lot of things, mistaken thing as being a cultural difference when I should have questioned those things right on the spot. Bottom line is, I should have spent more time talking to him and I should have asked more questions. Anyway, I screwed that up, if anything the date shouldn't have happened. Not because I didn't want to go on a date, it is simply that I went in without properly vetting him as I should do with any guy. Plus it is more risky dating and meeting new people with the covid-19 stuff going on, probably not the smartest thing to do.

If anything, I should be taking the time to actually get to know someone before meeting them. So yeah that was kind of dumb of myself. Not saying he isn't at fault either as it takes two to tango, but I feel I should have known better.

I am sorry it didn't work out for you. Yeah there are certain things, cultural or not, that I can't let past and tell people to make clear before they try anything. Well at least it is a lesson learned right? I hope things turn out better next time!

Hopefully so. I feel like I might have better luck in Vegas...playing roulette. It is very hard to find someone that you click with and then when you do you screw it up by opening your mouth like you're Jim Carrey in "Liar, Liar" when he's not able to lie about anything (good movie if you haven't seen it). Oh and if you do date someone never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER have a crush on them. That, or plan on wearing a chastity belt and take some anxiety meds on your date. Rolleyes

I'm probably the first person to give advice and probably the last person to make a relationship work longer than an episode of Peppa Pig.
