Windows Vista Home Premium
Hokay ... I agonised over this decision and ultimately (based on my brother Sming's suggestion) plumped for a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium, and I have to say ...

... I am pleasantly surprised !!.

It runs quickly (although I *do* have 4GB of RAM in this baby so I would be HORRIFIED if it didn't), and whilst it has a few gimmicks that make it nice, these BACK UP the basic functionality which *touch wood* I have found to be thoroughly satisfactory thusfar ...

... so yeah ! I take it back !! Xyxthumbs.

I think my inherent earlier mistrust of Vista stemmed from the fact that the first few times I worked with it was when I was ordering laptops for colleagues and friends, and Vista Home came down on them, and they didn't have enough RAM in them to run it smoothly, so after taking a good 5 minutes to boot-up, it would run like a three-legged dog ...

... but yeah, as I say, thusfar I take it back !!.

xx
