Do you have any favorite photographers?

I like different types usually. My main two favorite types of photography are black and white night photos and color night photos..............photos of nature and space.

For some reason, when I see an awesome shot of the sky, space, or something of that nature, I feel happy and glad I am on a planet that has such awesome views. And sometimes, if the photo is "just right", I feel so wonderful, I think Im living on a beautiful planet all to myself, and Im just giddy with happiness.

Having lived in Africa for a few years, you can't help but be captivated by the landscape and the animals around you. Here's a few of my pictures

I have a thing for unfriendly weather..

in that regard I remember when Chaitén volcano erupted in 2008 in the middle of a thunderstorm..

it looked like hell on earth...very beautiful to see (in pictures, not up close, obviously)

I'm with you Mr. Tinkles, I love photography that shows the night sky in all its wonder... I love the night so much, also photos that depict isolated and quiet environments.






I also love macro lens photos, seeing the world in that way just gives it another aspect that's fascinating.

There are Facebook pages that I follow called 'Earth Porn' and another called 'Space Porn', some of those photos are mind blowing.

I care a great deal for fine art black and white landscapes, too. A good example would be Susan Harlin. She works in two very unusual formats, 4x10 and 8x20 view cameras custom built by her husband, who is also a talented photographer.

One of these days after I get all of my equipment sorted out I will come back to photography and put up another online gallery of my own. Back in the day I was rather prolific.
