Does Japan view male sexiness differently?
#31
The ideal vision of beauty tends to differ a lot based on time and place. Women in the heian period of Japan were beautiful if they had plump, pale faces, plump bodies and long hair. They also had to dress in super-complicated garments and colour their teeth black. I've seen movies taking place in Japan in the following centuries where women's eyebrows are shaved into strange, round shapes. Since I see it so often I've kind of assumed that was a fashionable choice back then.

As to modern, male sexiness, it's very easy to get a certain impression of what the ideal is. This usually comes from anime, video-games, movies, pornography and possibly celebrities, like J-pop bands and whatnot. I do believe it's very possible that the ideal vision of male beauty in Japan is less muscled and less hyper-masculine than we're used to in the west. But like Meg said, it's important not to generalize too much.
