Hey everyone my name is Derek and I hail from San Antonio Texas. I am a 21 year old college student and I just came out last August. Very new to all this stuff that comes with being gay like sex, romance, social expectations. Everything just seems so different when you're gay like dating is different expectations of what you're supposed to be like is way different. I get the expectation overall that what is the expected norm is much higher when you are gay. You are expected by the community to be hot, have a big dick and washboard abs if you have any chance of having sex or relationships. Basically the closer that you look like a porn star the better it is for you in the gay community. I also feel like sex is something that is way more emphasized when you are gay, nothing wrong with that in and of itself but I feel like it is done at expense of valuing other important things such as celebrating other guys personality or intellectual gifts My hope by being on this site is to sort of debunk these impressions I have of other gay guys and hopefully meet guys who won't totally reject me because I don't like Landon Conrad (he is a porn actors). So yea I am here for friends and guidance.

I know right? I do not either, I am a very authentic guy and maybe that is what those plastic Ken dolls don't like so they call me ugly. I wanna live life on my own terms and be my own man, i just hope i won't have to be lonely as hell while I am doing it though. It would be nice to have boyfriends and sex and everything they have too.

Yes in my experience sex is more emphasized when your gay though not always, i,ll think you,ll find people here will debunk some of those impressions you have. Welcome :-)
