Authentic French food as served in France - Hmm I don't think so. Americanized french food - yeah sure, you know french fries, french toast, french dressing....

I have had french wines though... lots of those actually...

French fries are not french.
They are actually called that from the way the potato is cut.
Cutting a veggie in long thin slivers used to be known as "french cut".
Then they were pegged "frenched fries" and then shortened to "french fries".
There is nothing "French" about them.

French Toast, well.......supposedly that is an old French dish, but I haven't studied cooking in that much detail, so I dont know for sure.

French Dressing............only a shallow imitation of the real thing.
