Your First Pet?

A Caracal cat. I found it in the bush riding out from Stellenbosch. As baby kittens are, it was adorable and as most baby kittens aren't, it grew into being a bush cat, able to leap twelve feet in the air to catch birds on which it fed; Surely a useful attribute in a household pet. It imprinted on me, my small boy and my God Father with whom I lived but NO ONE else. She terrorized the bulk of the household servants and could always startle the ground servants by just suddenly dropping in, usually with a dead, bleeding thing in its mouth. Eventually a neighbours Spaniel dog went missing and, unfortunately, parts of it were discovered under my bed. It was then off to Lolly Sassons, who ran an animal protection camp for former "pets" in the Caprivi Strip by a tributary of the Zambezi. Eventually, when I'd go to visit, it forgot me so the big Damon and Pythias thing didn't fly. And that was my first pet.

We had a black dog called PRINCE that i dont really remember and a white cat with ginger & black spots called CINDY who just wanted to sit on your lap all day, she only had one eye and when prince died ( I dont remember ) we got this little terrier "thing" called SCRUFFY and we used to take him for walks in the forest and he had his own route through the undergrowth wher we wouldnt see him for 5 minutes until he came out on the path ahead of us, this always amazed me!

We had a bunch of fish and let's just say I sucked at taking care of them. And then we got this super adora-fucking-ble guinea pig, and then it supposedly "ran away" according to our parents.

a dog named Trixie that I can't remember. I've seen pics of her with me when I was very young.

A white female dog i had since March or April 1999...

Then she died 2 years ago...

It's like we grew up together.. I was 7 (turning 8) when i had her as a puppy

Then at 13, she died... When i was 20 (turning 21)

I was the one who buried her :')

Rabbits, guinea pigs, aquarium, Budgerigar... as a child...

and now

3 Dogs, 4 cats, 30 Minipigs, 8 Geese, 10 hens, 6 roosters, 20 parakeets, some snakes, lizards, Iguanas, ducks...

At parents' home I had only a bird and some fishes. I wanted so bad a lizard but my mom was against it. He gave me the ultimatum: me or a lizard. My sister joked a lizard then but my mom blackmailed us to stop making food so she stayed :tongue:. When I started living with my bf he had rats but I didn't like them. Fishes are still my favourites .

A dog called Lobo (wolf) he was a mixed race (German sheperd and a mastiff) i was 3 years old when i began to play with him and he was with me untill i was 10, he was bitten by a snake (wich he killed) and then fell to the pool where he passed away in the night : /

I would stand in the doorway and yell "Lobo!!" and he would come running like hell

I had a cat for 19 years when I was in high school. She got so old, I had to have her put to sleep. It killed a huge chunk of me.
