You know what sucks?

I am so sorry sweetie , he sounds like a complete jerk.
You are going to have to call his bluff and end things ,take the power back and disarm him.

I know it will be hard but I do not see any other choice here ,you need to get as far away from this guy as soon as possible .

It might be painful, but really the only surefire way to make sure he can't win in this is to out yourself before he has a chance to out you. That strategy takes every last bit of power away from him and leaves you free to live your life however you want, with the exception of living it in the closet. Which is not a great place to be anyway.

Out of those of us who started coming out later in life, I'd be surprised if very many had no regrets over waiting.

Of course, he's a total piece of crap for treating you like this and you have my sympathy in spades.

While I can in no way condone his threats it sounds to me like he is hurting badly and his threats stem from his emotions.

If you want to break up then do so. Should he decide to create a scene he will find that things will turn out far worse for him than for you. Most neutrals do not like the idea of gossip or trying to make someone unhappy just because they are.

I would sit down with him and talk nicely to him. Stress that you can't choose when you love or if you fall out of love. It is just life. Should he threaten you again, call his bluff and tell him to go ahead if he wants to (you have no control over what he does anyway) but also remind him that every action has consequences for everyone including him. Suggest to him that he thinks of the consequences for him before he opens his mouth. Say nothing more and keep him guessing.
If he has a brain he will think about it and hopefully stop being silly!

I dont think he really means it, if he wanted to be with you he wouldnt threaten this which will just push you further away, you need to talk and be calm and just say its over

can you pretend that you are mentally sick....it's delicate moment...i'm not suggesting you to run through the room with a knife and scream out mad things.
Ttry to pretend silent madness
. People are afraid weird people. Noboby want to live together with madmen.)
Take it like a role which you must play - do it best as you can.
It's works. Realy. I did it when i've been in same situaton many years ago.
wish you luck

Well I talked about it with him and apparently he was bluffing, trying to scare me into changing my mind. So just to be sure, I waited until he went back to boarding school in NY. Then I took the ass way of doing it and sending him a single text saying its over, though of course I think that was completely fair given what he did.

Also, Valet, I had actually considered that. I can put on an amazing sick minded freak/crazy person act (Not the running into room screaming with knife of course, I mean just being strange and sort of off with no explanation. I'm good at messing with peoples heads Tongue)
