Not really same as any other language once you get your head around the basics you should do fine! The hardest part for me is the regional differences with the north and South which seems silly but it exists!
There is a different alphabet which takes a while to get your head around I guess as certain letters don't exist in it like 'k' so my name over here is Marc not Mark :p but I have an English mum hence the spelling! The one thing about the Welsh they are very proud of their heritage and to me I think that's what makes it worth while!

last time I went to Wales I did find the road signs confusing had not got a clue how to say what was written :p
