Just curious, but where did the stereotype that twinks are usually bottoms come from? Is it just a common knowledge thing that the more slender and smaller one will be in the more submissive position? In porn, they always do this. The slender guy's on the bottom while the muscular guy's on top? I know this isn't a rule, but where did it come from?

Good question! I, personally, don't automatically equate 'twink' with 'bottom', but I know people who do and recognize that it's a common stereotype. I think it's situational. If you see a twink together with someone who looks older and/or larger, it makes sense that you might associate the little twink with the bottom role. Does anyone else have any insight on this quirky stereotype?

Because your species is bi-gendered.
Humans are pretty much hardwired to identify certain male traits as being male dominant in bed and effeminate traits as being submissive in bed.
"Pretty" is 'female'. Twinks are "pretty" therefore are cast in the 'female' role which is the bottom role.
It is probably a statistical high of around 90% of twinks being bottoms, 90% of campy being bottoms, and 90% of straight acting as being tops, or muscle bears as tops...
Porn, BTW, is fantasy. It is not based on reality.
If it was based on reality then they would show the awkward moments rolling on the condom. And the movie would last about 7 minutes because that is the average lasting power of the average male.
Gay porn changed the the gay sex act. Used to be most gay men only did oral, anal was not very popular. Its still not very popular but a lot of guys do it because of porn and how they always show a blow job magically progressing to anal so everyone assumes that that is what gay sex is about.
However, still 60% of guys polled prefer not to do anal at all. And would rather just do blow jobs.
And body shaving and pube shaving and trimming up Hitler mustachio above ones prick - all due to porn.
The 'writers' of porn need to really step back and take a closer look at their 'art' and start putting a lot more reality in the situation. And stop playing into the stereotypes.

What's your personal definition of twinks.
I always thought that besides being smaller, notbnecessarilybsmall they also had to be cute, especially like pretty-boy cute.
So I guess the directors see it more natural for the the"prettier" twinks to take the supposed feminine position., while the more "ruggedly handsome" guy is the more masculine top.
BTW- I think the whole top/ masculine and bottom / feminine associations are BS, especially since me and my bf are both versatile.
