What's on my mind?
Hmmm... Well lately I've been thinking about the saying "don't look for love or a relationship, it will find you." I struggle with this so much. I think about the fact that I'm in one of the most conservative states in the country and I ask myself, do I need to live in a location that is more open to homosexuality in order to actively "not look" for a relationship or love and allow it to find me?
I think the context of the situation is important to consider when I choose to consciously follow that saying. Do we as gay men have to do a bit of putting ourselves out there in order to find what we're looking for? Maybe this statement holds true to everybody, but I'm always told by my girlfriends that I need to stop looking or trying (easy for them to say... They have boyfriends.)
Maybe I'll just have to wait these 2 years out, focus on myself, and then move to a more open environment.
All of this made sense in my head lol.

I also live in a conservative state, though not as conservative as Mississippi. Moving to a better place is something I've been struggling to accomplish ever since I was very young. I'm 33, but it's finally going to happen next year. I truly believe, well I KNOW, that it will help my life in countless ways. Yes, we do have to put ourselves out there more and we also have to put ourselves in situations that can bear the most fruit. You need to go where the trees are, so to speak.
Life here has never suited me and I've been miserable. I won't tolerate it any longer.
