Margaret was one of the women who trained me for the job I currently have, she was smart, funny, truthful, and a pro at crosswords, finishing them before anyone else. We worked together since 1997.
In 2011 she took time off after feeling sick for some time. After a week, she came back to tell us she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which had already progressed to stage 4 by the time it was found. She was leaving the job at that point.
She stayed in touch with us, came to visit when she could. She saw her first grandchild born (at the end of 2012), and was with her family since leaving our job.
RIP, Margaret. I will miss you. You could always make me laugh.
Cellar, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. The people in our lives who are able to make us laugh really stick with us. Laughter is extremely important. Remember the good times. Time will heal as much as it can. I wish you well.
