What's on Your Mind
Wishing my father was more fatherly. You could have been there, dad.

Thinking about how many guys on here would love to be Derek's dad.

Thanks for the sweet thought, my friend. It's just that around this time of the year, every year, I tend to think a lot. Going to be another Christmas without him.

I visited friends in the Valley shortly before the Northridge quake. Their building collapsed on top of their car, but they were luckily not hurt.

I am thinking that I wish there was a Grindr-like app that was strictly platonic, something like GS but local and with more people on it (and less exclusively male and gay). I want to know who lives around me and make friends but there is no easy way of doing that short of hanging around the neighborhood bar, which gets expensive and is a crapshoot socially.

If you're reading only at home that is great, but when you are traveling, going to the beach, park etc. that pricey doohickey needs to be watched and schlepped around or it might develop legs... So, I'm advocating a mix depending on your situation.
Of course I love the instant gratification of downloading books in a minute and immediately starting to read.
Just wanted to share my experiences.

Since my eyes got screwed up I am mostly reliant on e-Books. I don't so much mind them as clutter is a constant problem in our house. However, I did not get rid of the books I have, some of which I have had since childhood. I use my computer at home (and sometimes let my Mac read the text to me aloud) and my iPad on the road.

Always know that you will always be one of my favorite guys in GS for your kindness and wits. I've told you before, I would have asked you out for a date if you live nearby. Take care, Ceez.
