What's on Your Mind
LJay Wrote:Cridders, I can sympathize. In 2 1/2 days I have eaten a whole jar of mincemeat. It's addictive.

Two things: You appear to be slim but it is still worth noting that people with diabetes have a tendency to never leave food on a plate. Second thing: It may be a good strategy for you to be very careful about what you dish out for yourself. Make a rule lie No Seconds until all the food is gone and you have waited ten minutes for it to settle.

Third thing: Do you know where I can get more mincemeat?

When I dish out the portions for myself, it is fine, I dish out a good amount to make me comfortably full, most of the time anyway. It's when I go out to restaurants, go to takeaways, or if someone cooks for me I end up with too much food and end up eating it all lol. I am slim but I never used to be, in fact I used to be very much overweight, so I got to start being a bit more careful.

I'm not surprised you've eaten the whole jar, mincemeat is very addictive. Mince pie scoffing is another thing I am going to become a "victim" to over the coming couple of months lol

I suspect that Brits like mincemeat more than we do here in the US. It is hard to find mince pies and that is a shame. I love the spices, especially since I was raised with a Grandmother who has great english and Scots influences in her cooking.

I know what you mean about restaurant portions. Almost always too big. I'd be happy if they lowered the prices and put out a little less food.

Keep laughing to myself because we walked our dogs today (we have 2 large mastiffs) and German Shepherd - as we walked through the woods we moved to one side to allow a Chinese family to pass the lady who looked very old indeed turned to my dog and said "look...a tiger dog lol" then repeated it as we all smiled to each other, I guess if you've never met that kind of dog before then tiger or lion dog could be accurate bless her

Lol, awesome! Tiger dog!

I am amazed that after 40 years of living here, my mum really managed to keep the spiders away from the house by plugging each and every socket in the house.
Which means those huge spiders came out of the sockets!

Every time I hear you drop a post like this .. you're adding to the list of spankings you're about to get when I 'm in the UK and Europe next year..

You don't think I'll hunt you down ...do you?

Can't keep thinking about the same thing whenever work is not distracting me from it. I don't really know how to deal with it because I won't be given the chance to...which only leaves "letting it go"... something I'm really not good at.

I should be going to bed or something but I got distracted. I postulated that the volume of an adult human is inversely proportional to its lifespan. The product of these two quantities is thus a constant which I like to call the Colonel Sanders constant. I estimated it at ~2 x 10^8 m^s s. This was in response to a post I saw somewhere asking for information about the link between body weight and life expectancy.
