What's on Your Mind
starlight Wrote:I think i am on a permanent rant in life lol really fed up with things i cannot change i am having to put up with things for now.

Hmm... I think ultimately we can choose to change things in our lives...doesn't mean it will happen overnight or that those changes don't bring the need for more change.

I think my experiences over the last few months has been an eye opener, a bit humbling... I'm both a great person and a shitty person at the same time and the same goes for everyone else. We all lie, we all are selfish and anyone who denies that is a lair.

As for you and your issues... You CAN change things, it starts with YOU. We all think shit is bad in our lives at some point. Things can always be much much worse... They showed pictures of people starving in Syria a few days ago... they're pretty scary pictures of people suffering and the sad thing is a some of these people will die... Unfortunately for them, they CAN'T change things in their life.

Life is short, fragile and it is most certainly special. We can't be perfect, we will fuck it all up, we will be selfish, petty, we will lie, be irrational, we will hurt people close to us and people close to us will hurt us. However, there is no reason to kick yourself over someone else or a situation you might find yourself in. So make the best of it, stop seeing things as being so bad and start seeing it that you STILL have it better than the majority of people. I know I do, so make the best of it while it last because it could end tomorrow.

Carpe Diem, for me it means don't waste your time with bullshit that doesn't matter or with people that don't matter. Stop wasting time throwing pity parties.

These are only words though. I can be the smartest person on Earth, slap words on everything, I can understand, I can empathize, I can imagine but if I want change I have to at least make an attempt at it.

I'm tired of being too fat, tired of being the typical fat fuck American. I want a nice body, so who cares where I got the motivation to get started with things but I'm going to attempts this and I WILL be successful. I can't change whether I am seen being attractive, I can't change my face...my eyes, nose...how big my ears are... but I can change my attitude and I can achieve goals if I want them.

So anyone who's feeling sorry for themselves, I hope this helps you get over it and start living instead of thinking "I wish-a, could-a, would-a."

Although not an Apple fan but a Steve Jobs quote I like, "Do you want to sell sugared water all your life or do you want to make history."

I only play PC games. rFactor series, Project CARS, Live for Speed, Assetto Corsa - all these are considered simulators, altough I find nothing simulative in them, especially when you try to drift. In all these games the car behaves like a tram - taking turns as it's on tracks and no drift is possible.
So far the best rally and drift games I've played are WRC 2, Race Driver GRID and GRID 2. If you try Race Driver GRID you should know something important - you must find its cracked version by RELOADED because their crack fixes some problems with black screen and game crashing with Windows 7. I have a purchased version of RD GRID but those morons don't provide any tech support, even if you have bought their product and there are also no patches to fix these problems. So the cracked version is your only chance, if you wanna play Race Driver GRID.
As for WRC 2 I'm not sure whether you'll like it because it requires specific car settings for each type of track covering and type of tracks. For instance, the super special stages (closed circuits on stadiums) require very specific settings (different than anything else) otherwise you won't be able to beat the opponent and most likely you'll damage the car to a point that it won't be able to cross the finish line, all the more if the car you're driving is 4WD. If you want I can make screenshots with those settings and send them to you in a personal message.

Forza is by far the best racing game I had ever played... The graphics were great, and very accurate simulation of physics...the only thing I will say is that on take offs the cars would spin out way too much... Otherwise, everything was pretty accurate...and had huge car packs... They even have a Prius on the game lol. Can tune vehicles and all sorts of stuff... Once the 360 is cheaper I might pick up one again, but right now too much debt and the last thing I need to do is waste another $200-300 on a console that I'm probably only going to play one....maybe two games on lol

I heard good things about GRID, but if they don't work well on 7, doubt they'll work any better on 8.1. I would go back to 7 but for some reason with my RAID 10 array I have with my hard disks, Windows 7 fails to install...I had to install Windows 8 RTM and then upgrade it to 8.1... So yeah definitely have to stick with what I have or learn to love Linux lol

I'll take a look at those games, see if I can get a demo and whatnot...

Whether or one I should do a thread about Sugar metabolism and insulin signaling pathways. I complain too much that people must know at least the basics, but...who will tell them eh? I dunno
