What's on Your Mind
Pikmin...Sounds interesting. Don't have a Switch unfortunately. Most of the gaming I do like is sim racing or silly stuff like BeamNG, well enough that I did finally get a good wheel...controllers just suck for that lol

...

My mom seems to be ok for now. Just stressful as is anything involving my dad specifically.

I had a mad catz wheel and pedals for OG GT, I found that my cars became trains and the tracks were the guard rails.
Heh controllers are necessary for my lack of skills Wink.

I am glad your mom has a good (better) prognosis.

@"Alakazam" I got a Thrustmaster T300 RS...Having the 1080 degree turning radius makes it so much better. I used to have a different wheel but it was only 180 degrees which just messes with my head. The only bummer is the games I like to play don't run on Linux which I really really like Linux...If it ever comes that I can strip down Windows and use KDE Plasma I would definitely do that and WSL is sort of a tease. Anyway, I'm going off on a tangent.

Yeah, she's doing better right now but her blood pressure is quite high. She doesn't go to the doctor until the 5th though...I'm going to push that she go see her cardiologist, well it will be a new one since her cardiologist retired....so yeah. Health care in the US...I guess it's good if you have stacks of cash or something.... My mom has a ton of problems and she had a bad bad habit of either not telling us, not telling the doctor or forgetting what the doctor told her...so it is looking like we are going to have to do something about that because I should think that if a doctor takes your BP and it's 200 over whatever that they might just want you to go to the ER or do something about it and that didn't happen, so I kind of wonder why. Add my dad in the mix and it is just much more stressful to get over what are small speedbumps. Right now, it is getting enough fluids in her...and to eat more too...so yeah hopefully all this can get straightened out.

Started a new little project today. I set up a 10 gallon aquarium about a month ago and it's one I've had and periodically have had fish in the past. 10 gallons is pretty limiting, you can't put too many fish in that small of a tank, if not due to the bioload of some fish, territorial reasons and so forth for others. I have several tables that my dad made out of 2x4's and such and been beefing it up so a 55 gallon tank can go on it. I haven't shared pictures of the 10 gallon tank, but the plants need some root tabs...badly, I'd say some of them aren't salvagable. So I learned a lot in this experience and I do believe I will have much better luck with the 55 gallon having learned my mistakes on choosing substrate that is inert. You have to put a bunch of root tabs near/under the plants and you have to supply some nitrogen if you don't have fish in the tank for over 2 weeks....annnd don't put too many fish in at once or you'll have a huge ammonia spike which will kill all your fish. That being said, I have not had any casualties in the 10 gallon. Some of the fish did get Ich and once I got Ich-X (medication) it knocked it out in 3 does and now doing a round of Maracyn... Only problem with Maracyn with it being an antibiotic it is killing off much of the beneficial bacteria in the tank which is going to make the ammonia problem worse which I have, so far, been able to keep under control.

Ultimately my goal is to use the 10 gallon tank as a quarantine tank so I can slowly stock up the 55 gallon...once I have all the stuff I need which I'm guessing will be towards the end of the year. Not that I need a 55 gallon aquarium or anything but it is something I have found enjoyment in and want something big enough I can look at without putting my face almost in the water.

So there's two things I am going to start off with first, that is the tank and a python system which will allow me to drain and fill the tank with one hose, no buckets or anything... Then I'll get the substrate and lights and so on.

Completely random but I am slightly sad that I had to shutdown my server because I was moving things around, had 151 days uptime, hosts two websites I manage, runs plex, and a ton of storage... Linux is just rock solid, as long as you are able to troubleshoot problems when they pop up you seldom if ever have to reboot. Of course, having rebooted now on a newer kernel. Need to get it updated to the 20.04 version but I feel like I will be in the terminal quite a lot following that lol

Glad to hear your mother is doing better @InbetweenDreams  , I don't know if your family does this but we always had someone go in with my grandmother for doctors visits to remember what the doctor said and tell the dr. if she was doing what she was supposed to Smile . Also good when you end up with a bad doctor, I went to an urgent care one day because I felt sick, they said I had a virus and oh your blood pressure is a little high, apparently 180/120 is just a little high to them  Angry

@ceez I guess I need to look more into that. I heard that their doctor's office only allows patients in the waiting room so idk. They really ought to get another doctor in my opinion...but yeah 180 over anything is quite high...Now lab coat syndrome sure that will raise your BP but not to that extent if you ask me....but I am also not a doctor.

@InbetweenDreams You should call the doctor and make the situation clear to him/her. Then ask how it is normally dealt with.

I've talked to one of the nurses down there. Not sure if it just this doctor's office but it seems everything falls on deaf ears. I still don't believe that this surgeon's office didn't appear to be alarmed about her BP. At any rate, she goes next week to follow up with the doctor so we'll see how that goes... She really ought to get a different doctor, I've been telling both of them that for years.
