Appears I was bitten by a brown recluse spider... Doesn't hurt, just hot and the area has gone from the size of a softball to a bit larger...Feel kind of poopy. For those who don't know what a brown recluse is because it's not native to your region...
There's other articles but this covers the basics...

No, I haven't got to the hospital, not getting a $5,000 bill. Likewise, if it gets bad I will but for now just keeping an eye on it.

Sounds nasty! I hope it heals nice and quickly on it's own.

@ Cridders88 Thanks, I hope it does too. This morning it looks better. I don't know for sure what bit me.

Eek possible spider bite... how horrible! I thought it was just Australia that had nasty wee spiders!
Glad you're on the mend and it's looking better.
Note: No trees were destroyed in the sending of this contaminant free message. However, I do concede, a significant number of electrons may have been inconvenienced.

I just googled images of that spider; it's one of those creepy long-legged ones. Don't like the look of them. Hopefully it wasn't one of those that bit you, but I'm glad it's looking better and not developed into anything serious.

Just did the same, those bad boys are quite common here. Thankfully never have been bitten by one. Thank goodness bites are rare and they aren't aggressive lol

(Edited 05-29-2021, 02:35 AM by Karl Rand.)
A few decades ago I was pruning a very prickly shrub and thought one of the thorns had stuck into me.
Not long after my elbow became swollen and very painful. A local GP prescribed an antibiotic and sent me home.
Not long after my breathing became laboured, my pulse became irregular and I felt very sick. Phoned an ambulance and ended up in intensive care where my heart kept missing beats. Diagnosed as a Red Back spider bite I was given the antidote, in itself a nasty experience.
Prior to this little drama finding a spider in the house I’d carefully put them in a jar and release them outside. Now I kill them on sight. I also kill scorpions and tiger snakes if they’re in or anywhere near my house. A tiger snake once chased me across a manicured lawn in suburban Melbourne.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_snake You know, I used to want to visit Australia We have the largest number of extremely venomous snakes, spiders, jellyfish, octupuses ( or is that ”˜octopi’?) and murderous sharks of any nation on the planet so if you’re apprehensive stay away. On the other hand I’ve been here for 75 years, lived on the seaside and in the country and I’m still alive. (just)
