Any superhero comic book fans on here?
Currently reading some old 1980's comics such as Legion of super heroes and Teen Titans.

Are you interested in some bronze age stories?

LOL

In the 1970s (to go along with the cartoon) DC ran a series called The Super Friends.

This series was different from the cartoon on TV.

It explained why Wendy and Marvin were there, gave a back story to the arrival of the Wonder Twins on Earth and how they replaced Wendy and Marvin.

The heroes were more resourceful, Wonder Woman did more than rely on her lasso, Batman and Robin on more than their bat devices.

Aquaman was not completely useless, and the Wonder Twins were not stupid.

The 47 issue run saw guest stars like other Justice Leaguers, Plastic Man, Super Girl and international heroes.

Zan & Jayna were given an origin story and secret identities.

For some reason, the 47 issues are being released in a two volume set. The first set is called "Showcase Presents - The Super Friends - Vol 1". This volume contains issues 1 - 24.

The only drawback (from my point of view) is that while the cover is in color, the artwork inside is all black and white.

I want to get into the new teen titans. I really enjoyed the CN show, and think it would be interesting. Especially with the new hero Bunker

My supervisor at work and I exchange gifts at Christmas.

This year, she gave me this.

I've already looked through it, and it's a great history of DC Comics. While there are no pics of my 'favorites', there are a few references to The Super Friends, and one mention of the Wonder Twins.

Oh damn......

The Figures Toy Company is releasing super hero dolls like they had in the 70s.

They've worked on the Batman characters, Justice League, and the original Teen Titans.

Now they're working on a line based on The Super Friends.

LOL

Why didn't they have these when I was a kid?
