Currently i am trying to learn english, with Duolingo, english podcasts, serie in english with english subtitle... I live in england since four months for that but it's not easy.

For improve your new language, you need to speak with some people, but when your are not fluent in this language it's not very easy. Mostly when you are a little bit shy.

I want to learn Icelandic even though it would be pretty useless. Would be neat to read the sagas untranslated, though.

More realistically, Italian, since I already know some Spanish and like to spend time there.

Japanese and why? I really don't have an answer outside of the fact that I like the language.

supasyd Wrote:Welsh or Mandarin. I know a little of both, but nowhere near enough of either to be considered fluent. My Welsh is probably better due to being surrounded by it for 21 years...but I'd like to be able to do more than ask how are you, how's the weather and order a drink hahaha

So they don't teach Welsh in school there? I am kind of surprised.

When we were in Iceland I was told they make everybody learn four languages: Icelandic, English, Danish (which almost nobody there uses, but they were occupied for many years), and another of their choosing.

Most people did pretty well with English, although that lessened the further you got from the city.

Nearly 18 years old and basically speaking 3 languages. I won't mind learning my 4th, German, if I'll need to.
