Indeed the Chat Box has been taken away. Shame but if that's the way the site will work better, then good riddance. Anyhow, I thought the games were the cause of less attention to writing posts. But maybe I'm wrong. The chat box did not always get much use, but we've had lots of tools to play with and now maybe we just need to stick to those we use the most fruitfully.

I can sometimes get to the main page or the blank page. If I click on things in the forum I again get a blank page or the GS System Message page saying : The server is too busy at the moment.

So I dont know if it is the server or ...

If you do post please add that it is the same on Mac - Safari, Firefox and Dell XP with Firefox..."

I've seen Frank's name in the box, but that does not always seem to be a true reflection of who's looking at the site at any one time.

Andy explained, I think, that sometimes the names of people will appear in the boxes because they haven't cleared their cookies out properly, so they appear online when they actually might not be. Something to bear in mind. Rolleyes

Hey everyone,

Sorry, I've been busy with workies lately... today is my first proper day off in a LONG while! I even managed to get a long Sleep2

The Chatbox was creating too much server load and causing IE to crash out. I couldn't pinpoint the exact problem (especially since Firefox and Opera browsers were working fine) so decided to take it off altogether... so sorry for its sudden disappearance if you were starting to get used to it! Cry

That's weird about the guys still having problems accessing the site... everything should be running really rock stable now! I can even access it via my mobile phone! Wink

I would blame it on the cache they've built up, and as before I would suggest running CClean to clear their IE cache.

No we are not. A few months ago there was a "shout box" on the home page. The introduction of that coincided with a lot of people, including me, having problems with the site. It was removed. I do not miss it.

Yes. They're a bit of a nuisance as well. Most of those are out of date Wink
