I am not quite as tall as you, but I am 6'4". I have had similar experiences with old ladies in the grocery, and I can definately attest to the inconvence factor. Traveling by automobile can be very uncomfortable unless the vehicle itself is very larg and roomy, and travel by airplane always leaves me with a backache.
I also happen to be of slight build; my size in jeans is 29"x36" and I have to order all of my jeans from online retailers, as VERY FEW shops carry my size. "Big & Tall" Men's Stores are useless, as they really mean it when they say BIG and tall.
People have often complimented my height, however they fail to realize how few things (furniture, cloths, vehicles, ect..) are made for a person of my size. I read an article years ago that said tall people suffer more back problems. All theses years later, I can verify that. The back problems come from us tall people trying to slump down to try and fit into a world built for people almost a foot shorter (sometimes more) than we are.

Beaux............... I'm 6'5"... jeans? 31" x 37" but 30" X 38" works fine.

Cars???
A 30 minute ride in a "normal" car and I'm in pain at the knees , hips, shoulders and neck.

Air Travel???
Making reservations I don't ask for extra leg room. I ask for the type and size jet and then tell them exactly what aisle and seat I WILL have... (my soon to be father in law is a Qantas exec.. guess who I call if someone fux up my seat for a 20 hour flight?)

My guy is only 5'9" and he started having neck problems from standing too close and looking up at me.. I was getting those awful pains from slumping. It's worked out that either we stand over 5 feet apart to talk or.. I'm going to pick him up so we can talk face to face or sit him up on something to be taller than me so I can look up for a while.

I will not wear a cowboy hat inside any building and I don't turn Baseball caps backwards to be looking cool. I do it to cuz being my height and not being able to see thru cap bibs means I'm going to get my head cracked open in less than 3 minutes...no matter where I go or don't go.... EVEN IN MY OWN FRIGGIN HOUSE!

I don't mind short fuckers..mmmm I mean vertically challenged people asking me to do things they can't do without ladders. Just don't let one of them come up and make a cutesy remark about me being so tall... Last time that happened was on a patio at a gay bar after I'd had a few drinks. I put the little fucker up on the roof after I twirled him like a baton for a minute.

And for those bitching about cars being uncomfortable, damnit get the right car. I have a 1980 Porsche 911SC. Its sort of like the Tardis (and possibly the anus) in deceptive interior size when view from the outside. It is the only car I have drove that I have to pull the seat forward. Its also yummy comfortable.
