The Walking Dead
I really really REALLY loved the season finale! I re-watched it again earlier this evening, and noticed something about Carol's interaction with Pete (aka PorchDick lol). In that AWESOME scene when she is like "come at me bro", she wasn't just threatening him, she was setting him up to get drunk and lose it at the meeting! She had it planned out for Pete to attack Rick at the meeting! If you go back and watch that scene again (I have MULTIPLE times lol), you will hear her not only demean and humiliate him, but she specifically points out to him, "You are here, your wife is OVER THERE". She knew exactly what to say to drive him further into the bottle and blame Rick just in time for the meeting! After she left, he was stomping around saying, "This isn't my house! This isn't my house!". She got him to do EXACTLY what she wanted! Hehe! I am telling you guys, Carol is one smart cookie!!! If any woman could "scare me straight", it would definately be Carol! LOVE THAT GAL!!! SHE IS ONE HELL OF A WOMAN!!

Remember, at the beginning of Walking Dead she was an abused, battered housewife. I assume she had years of experience learning what buttons not to push, and what ones to push to survive. Psychological manipulation probably saved her from getting beat a few times. She knew his type, and how to set him off!

character development! just like what Melissa McBride and norman reedus discussed at the talking dead. as badass as daryl can be, being "glennesque" is also different. even though we would have killed Nicolas, glenn was still the good guy. and I was still remember that meek "kid" who helped rescue rick in that pilot episode from the tank.

and sasha just totally immersed in the dead! how cinematic was that for her to just lie there on top of the walkers...sasha will make it back from the brink of losing her humanity.

my best line of the night: "I want my dish back clean." yay carol!

2nd best line of the night: "there is vast ocean of shit out there...and rick knows every grain of it!" - yay abraham

and the best comedic relief: he's sleeping...oops! yay Rosita! way to reconcile Abraham and Eugene! and tara finally woke up! Big Grin

ok...I'm done rambling...

I love superheroes... but I wasn't a huge fan of "Smallville", and I haven't watched one single episode of the new "Gotham". I didn't care much for the newer Star Wars movies.

I'm just not the kinda guy who needs a bunch of back story prequalling how the "heroes" got to be there. It's like reading a best friends' high school diary after you've known him as an adult for years.

I definitely was put off by the Star Wars prequels...same with the Aliens and Resident Evil prequels and sequels...I loved Aliens 1-4 and Resident Evil 1-3 but none of the other stuff...I even hated some of them with a passion....

I think this one might be different though...it all depends on the PEOPLE which basically drive the story. I was also thinking to myself...hmmmm...this looks and sounds ALOT like The Stand (Stephen King)...I am excited to watch....

If I was doing a zombie movie or series...I would set it in Orange County and watch them eat all the Real Housewives..their husbands...and their children....LOL

this series just kicks ass, no other way to say it.

I am totally with you on hating the various prequels of otherwise excellent movie series East! One of the reasons I am so excited about the new "Fear The Walking Dead" series (despite the awful choice of name for the series...), is that, even though it is technically a prequel, they have already said that there will be absolutely no cross-over between characters on the two shows. "Fear..." Is only a prequel in that it's time-line precedes the current time-line of "The Walking Dead". We will get to see the beginning of the pandemic (which we missed in the original bc Rick was in a coma) on the other side of the country. I could see, eventually (if this second series takes off as well as the first) some of the past and present characters interact with the new series characters, but Robert Kirkman has been pretty emphatic that even that won't happen...guess we will just have to wait and see, but that is the hardest part for me--the WAITING!!! LOL
I could start my own series just about that particular torture: "Waiting For The Walking Dead"! HA!

I guess I misunderstood the premise of this new show, and was under the impression there wouldn't be any Zombies in it. I was envisioning Rick doing his day to day job as a cop with his buddy from the beginning of the series and coming home to dinner with his wife and 'bratty' kid, Carrol getting slapped around in a trailer park, ... all things best left to small flashbacks in the current series. This is sounding more like a Voyager/DS-9 Spin off of Next Generation type thing - which is fine with me!!! ... as long as there will be Zombies. Smile

Mmmmmmm this new spin-off sounds interesting, will have to see how it develops.

I was mixed on the finale. On one hand I was happy that nobody major died. On the other hand I was disappointed in the group fitting in tenuously storyline ending in lieu of the more traditional "there are crazy people trying to kill everyone" story. I was happy to see Morgan. I was more happy to see Ninja Morgan!
