1. i don't think it is possible to suddenly change any one thing on a huge scale without producing unforeseen consequences. i would thus be wary of any abstract change that doesn't follow naturally.

for example, you'd think erasing ISIS from this planet would be one thing to change, but in order to effect such a change, you'd need to effect a whole number of other changes, to ensure it is gone and stays gone. it's not possible to do it like that. you're never changing just one thing on a grand scale. it's childish to think you can affect one grand change just like that.

but if we're talking on realistic terms, you can change more than just one thing about the world. it might take more effort and it will take time, but it's not limited to just one thing. this question feels very abstract and unrealistic to me....

2. absolutely. but not for some deeper meaningful reason. everything that happens has a physical reason and an explanation why it happened. that's the 'reason'.

for example, a car accident may happen to you because the other driver made a foolish maneuver. it's not anything that targeted you specifically, you just happened to be in that spot at that specific time, and if it hadn't been you it would have been somebody else. there is no reason why it happened to you, but it happened and the reason was a stupid decision. for example. this is how absolutely everything has a reason.

3. it is not possible for someone i feel wholly connected with to not look like what i ''hoped for''. i have met guys i've felt a deep and utter connection with and they have looked in sync with who they were in nature. character translates over into looks, that is a fact. i know the kind of guys that are congenial to me, and it is not possible for them to look different from who they are.

4. don't know. i don't generally watch films multiple times over. it's boring to watch them the second time.


5. i have never concerned myself with role models. people are people. there exist certain behavioral characteristics that maybe should be aspired to, but even that is kind of BS. every person expresses them a little differently and you should be who you naturally are and not emulate some person or a trait you think you should have, or think is good to have. if you don't naturally have it in you, you'll never have it.

You should definitely go to Berlin for a while. I hear it's a great city for the artistically inclined. Not been there myself yet, but it's in the 'cards', most surely. I've heard a lot of good about it.

You didn't have to answer about your parents' death, it was only on a "willing to share" basis. Thanks for being honest about it.

The question was about whether you'd consider a partnership over getting married. In some countries marriage is not an option, and civil partnerships don't exist either. You could also just prefer to remain celibate, or single. That's fine too.

Erm ... probably caressing. Not necessarily being caressed but actually doing the caressing. I also love the feeling of peeling hard boiled eggs from their egg shells, so again it's a tactile experience. Giving massages is also a nice sensation to me. I can tell you one physical sensatio I definitely do not like and that's being rocked all over the place in a rollercoaster. Hate the damned things.
2. Are you satisfied with the name your parents gave you? If not, what would you have chosen for yourself?
Yes, I am satisfied with the names my parents gave me at birth. There was a reason for that and I only recently discovered why my second name is what it is... My father disclosed something I didn't know. I bear my grandfather's name as my third. But believe it or not, as a child I badly wanted to be called by a girl's name (I wonder if that already said something about me), and had to have my mother make me a Snow White costume at the age of about 4 or 5. I can remember that experience quite clearly and strangely. My female name was Anne-Marie Catherine... Weird concoction of very common French names, though both Anne and Marie have been used for men, they are not commonly male names, and I doubt that at 4 or 5 I knew this anyway.
3. What are the favourite clothing items you own?
In real and professional life, I'm not a very fancy dresser, so I can't think what I like best in my wardrobe, so I'm going to go with the costumes I've made for various occasions, be it to go to the Carnival in Venice, or wearing them on stage and off stage for shows that I've been part of. I made a Napoleon III costume for which I've been highly praised and I think I looked good in it, but of course I never looked so good as my female partner looked in a crinoline dress. Those are fabulous. Gay enough?
4. What albums (music) did you buy last? (actual CDs or vinyl records).
These days, I tend to buy my albums online from mp3 catalogues, so they could be pop, or folk or classical music. The lates CDs I bought were a compilation of French songs, actually 2 compilations of French songs that are not modern at all, which I expect I will give my nephew from Canada for him to know his French roots a bit better. I have NO idea if he'll welcome the idea or not? I hope he will.
5. What was the last book you bought?
The last book I bought is The Prince's Boy by Paul Bailey, which should have a gay theme. I bought it on Amazon and it's been sent to the boat, so I have no idea what it's about, unless I look it up again. Marshlander might get to read it before I do.

it is. that's the reason it happened. it's human beings who infer who knows what from things that don't have anything more to them but that physical process that caused them. then that's the only reason why it happened.

I have a big sweet tooth. I love chocolate, tropical fruits, pastries.

I've never signed a petition online. If it gets awareness out then that's good, but awareness doesn't always equal action. I grew up in a family that was very active in the community, and I've carried that on in my own life too. That's what I view as being effective.

3. Moneywise, are you a spendthrift or are you quite careful with money? What do you think your money should go towards? Can you save?
I have to be very thrifty. I try to save everything, I always look for deals, I don't spend on impulse, I have a strict budget. Money should go to rent and bills first, then food, then everything else. I have built in indulgences - once a week I treat myself to takeout. A cheap bottle a wine once a week. Go out with friends maybe once or twice a month. But other than that I sit on my money, mostly because I'm very close to paycheck to paycheck living.

4. Art. What's your favourite form of art? If you don't have one, do you understand the role of art?
That's difficult. I like many forms of art. Architecture could possibly be my favorite because it really has a powerful / reality shaping impact. To me, the role of art is to tell stories. That's its most basic aspect. Which is such a universal and empowering thing.

5. Geography. Plains or mountains? City or countryside? Water or complete desert? Tell us about your ideal place to live.


City definitely. Close to a park. On the coast. A place with a rich history. Basically I'm very happy to always remain in NYC. I grew up in Coney Island and being close to the beach was a major part of my identity growing up. But I'd love a brownstone in Fort Greene. I wouldn't turn down a Central Park facing uws penthouse either.
