If SCOTUS thinks that organizations with deeply held religious objections to a particular law aren't obliged to obey that law, doesn't that imply that religious organizations like UCC, UUs, Episcopalians and many others who want to perform same-sex marriages should not be bound by state same-sex marriage bans?

Actually, in most states that have marriage bans, churches are not banned from performing same-sex marriage ceremonies, it is just they won't be recognized by the state. The state telling a priest, imam , minister, rabbi, etc what words they could say before a couple would kind of be a violation of that person's 1st Amendment rights. Although you need someone officially recognized to officiate the ceremony/proceeding for a marriage to legal and this person might be a representative of the church, the church does not issue the license or determine the legality.
Edit: There is a state that has such a law that bans religious official from officiating at same=sex ceremonies, North Carolina, and that is currently being challenged on 1st Amendment grounds.

This is all related to something I follow and keep up with more than anyone I know. I actually have one macbook devoted ONLY to this (I get them for $40.00 each through our town library & public school system when they're done with them)

The underlying principle of the Hobby Lobby anti-gay policy, the Chik Fil A anti gay policy, the anti gay legislation tried in Arizona and all the clones of the Arizona bill that were ready to go if Arizona's bill passed is something called "Religious Positive Discrimination" <<< go to the bottom of the page and see the other links and prepare to do some reading.

Basically RPD is this bullshit theory that they have the right to hire and fire based on religion, do business based on religion (buying only from christian suppliers and making contracts only with christian contractors) There are churches in Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, Georgia and a few other states who have bought up apartment complexes... guess what... if you want to move in to them you have to be christian.

Religious Positive Discrimination is the product of the Discovery Institute. Ever heard of them? They are the Fumb Duckers who thought up Intelligent Design and got their butts handed to them in court over it in the Kitzmiller vs Dover MD trial. In the trial Dr. Barbara Forrest brought in evidence that witnesses for ID had perjured themselves and that ID was just a reprint almost word for word of a book on Creationism the Discovery Institute had tried to push in Kansas Schools. For info about this go to youtube and search for Kitzmiller v Dover, Judge John E Jones, Barbara Forrestt and the Trojan Horse, and NOVA Intelligent Design On Trial.

But the main thing everyone should know about is that going on 20 years the Discovery Institute has been printing and circulating a book to nondenominational christian churches that outlines their plan to put religion over medicine, law, science, courts, television, internet, publishing,.... and even the constitution. You can find a copy or copies in almost all fundamentalist churches. It's taught at religious "retreats" ---- and little by little they are working to move forward with their plan ---- one tiny step at a time.

For anyone thinking this could mean a church in a marriage equality state could refuse to marry a same-sex couple, legally they already can. They can also legally refuse to marry an interracial couple or a couple where one or both was divorced from a previous marriage, despite race and marital status being part of the Civil rights Act. Churches aren't bound by that. So when you hear people opposed to marriage equality trying to instill fear in people by claiming that passing same-sex marriage will mean churches will be forced to perform same-sex ceremonies, set your friends and acquaintances straight that might be on the fence about supporting marriage equality.
